Betan Rice (Poha)
Beaten Rice is nothing but that has been parboiled, rolled, flattened and dry to produce the flakes. The flakes come in different thicknesses depending on the pressure used in flattening process. Rice flakes are small, very light, about 2mm long, flate and grayish colour. It has a bland gentle taste. Depending on the method of cooking, it can be soft or crunchy.
It can be used in Batata Poha, Kanda poha for breakfast. It is also used in Dosa & Idli Batter. Also on “Sharad Purnima” people take Milk & poha as Prasad or Bhog.
